In the beginning
In 2017 Holly and Ali moved down to Plymouth for a new life away from London. Passion for all things pizza and years of hospitality life brought about Knead pizza.
The early days
Starting in Plymouth market and honing our skills to try and work out our perfect pizza. We moved into The LHA garden in 2019 due to that thing we wont mention and started cooking with flame. We got ever closer to cracking and adapting the truest of neopolitan style dough into a perfectly soft, neo neapolitan light and flavoursome crust.
The perfect pizza
Now after a stroke of luck we’ve moved to the amazing Prysten House 1498. It’s one of the oldest buildings in Plymouth built by Thomas Yogge, with a real Tuscan villa vibe and courtyard, Grade 1 listed and also the inspiration for Yogge our new pizza pal.
Prysten House
Prysten house (possibly not its real name) In the 1490’s was the home of wealthy wine merchant Thomas Yogge. It is one of the oldest standing buildings in Plymouth. Set in the heart of Plymouths old town, the building its self contains a well room and a stunning wraparound courtyard with an ornately carved medieval balcony stretching around it. Owned by Plymouth council and managed by The Abbey Trust the top floors are used for community activities and house an incredible Plymouth Tapestry.
